Nancy Stevens, B.A., C.O.V.T.
Director of Vision Therapy
Nancy has been instrumental in creating the "vision" for Highline Center for Vision and Learning (HCVL). She was inspired to become a vision therapist after witnessing the amazing transformation her son made after several years of struggling in school due to vision problems. Her background in teaching language arts and Title I reading and math has given her the expertise to guide middle and high school students to prepare their visual skills for highter learning. Improving the quality of patients' lives is Nancy's passion.
Denise Gibson, B.S., C.O.V.T.
Assistant Director of Vision Therapy
Denise joined Highline in 1985. She has a background in teaching and she has notably contributed to the development of the vision screening program Highline provides to many area schools. Her organizational expertise has been invaluable in developing the extensive home therapy program that supplements Highline's in-office vision therapy. Denise excels and delights in motivating patients and connecting with their families as she works with them to remediate and enhance their visual systems.
Carole Peters, C.O.V.T.
Carole has studied the field of vision therapy for over 40 years and continues her quest for knowledge of innovative vision therapy techniques. She has helped implement visually guided motor skills training to our vision therapy program. She is an expert in helping patients who have had brain injuries regain their independence. Carole also has a passion for working with patients who have special needs, attention disorders and developmental delays.
Connie Weeder, B.A., C.O.V.T.
Connie has a teaching degree in Physical Education and has taken post-graduate classes in Special Education at the University of Northern Colorado. She got her start in vision therapy at the Colorado Optometric Center and then at the Morgan Learning Disability Center, where she developed a vision therapy program for juvenile delinquents. She has worked with athletes at every level to enhance their performance. One of her passions in the field of vision therapy is working with individuals with special needs such as ADHD, all ranges of the autism spectrum, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, and the cortically visually impaired.
